How it works
Every year my wonderful patrons help run a fundraiser and every year it turns out great! The work I do every year is truly made for the community and made possible by the community with the largest funding coming directly from people just like you!
My trip to Gen Con, Spiel, all of the games I backed, the filming setup I have, it’s all thanks to you guys.
What’s better, I get to give back to such a wonderful community that supports my efforts! While I cannot feasibly send a physical thank you to each donor, I can give what I have and what a few awesome companies are willing to give to this community.
Before I get into the Thank You Gifts I want to take a brief moment to thank you for being here. Please do not donate with the sole purpose of getting a Thank You Gift. A donation is just that, a donation for The King of Average and a Thank You Gift just that, a gift of thanks, as I can, for your support in this channel and the community we have here. Donations are accepted pretty much worldwide and thank you gifts can be sent mostly anywhere as well. Please note the shipping cost however. All costs listed are for shipping to the same country sent from (usually USA). If sent elsewhere prices can quickly escalate.
Donations earn entries toward a Thank You Gift of your choice. You can see how many entries each donation threshold provides, though you may freely customize the amount of you donate, earning entries up to the highest threshold met.
- $10 provides 1 entry
- $20 provides 3 entries
- $30 provides 5 entries
- $50 provides 10 entries
- $100 provides 35 entries
- $240 provides 75 entries
- $360 provides 125 entries
- $600 provides 250 entries
Giving beyond $600 restarts the entry levels, so $700 donated would provide 250 + 35 entries.
Can’t donate but still would like an opportunity to win a thank you gift? I understand, no problem! There is “no purchase necessary” to enter! Simply send an email to contact@kingofaverage.com with your full name, address and your thank you gift list to receive 1 entry! Please title email: “Free Thank You Gift Entry”
When the fundraiser is over on March 31st at 11:59pm MST donations for the 2024 fundraiser will be locked and I will assign out the Thank You gifts! Gifts will be assigned based on your top listed Thank You Gift that is still unclaimed. If none are available a new donor is picked. I will do this until all gifts are assigned. The winners will be announced during a livestream on the channel and then promptly contacted to obtain shipping funds. Donors that receive Thank You Gifts are required to pay for shipping so donation funds are not used to provide gifts.
In addition, if you donate $20+ you will receive a commemorative coin along with your thank you gift and if you donate $100+ you’ll receive the coin as well as the commemorative crown as well! This is a sincere gift from me to you as a thank you for proving that a channel can truly be community driven and also helps ensure most everyone that donates gets something in return. With enough funding I’ll extend this to everyone who meets the donation threshold!
Thank You Gifts will be priced around the end of March as prices drop around that time every year. All shipping estimates are assuming this “normal” cost. As every game is already packed, shipping will be finished by the end of April 2024!

Improvements made to correct issues from the 2023 fundraiser
Last year I gave away more than I ever have before and I’m so thankful that I could. However between the scope of it, opting to do it all myself, a house move and other issues the delivery of some gifts were delayed. I am sincerely sorry for this. While most got their gift still fairly promptly, a good section of you did not and I apologize for that. To be clear, I’m working on wrapping up the set of donors that still should receive a 2023 coin or crown. To save on costs and considering the time table, this will be sent out alongside anything you’re in 2024 at the end of March.
I do NOT want this delay to happen again and have put in the effort to ensure it won’t. The following is what has been done to ensure everyone gets what they rightfully should promptly:
- Every single gift I’m sending out below is either already boxed up, measured, weighed and priced out with an estimate or will be by the end of December. To put it simply, all they need is a label printed and pick up scheduled.
- I’ve set up some help from others in various locations around the world to print and ship printed rewards. Again this saves on cost but also helps logistically.

Shipping costs are estimates based on 2023 prices and rough size of gift. All gifts can be shipped generally anywhere.
